Cressi Quantum Mask

Cressi Quantum Mask

The Cressi Quantum Mask is a breakthrough in mask technology, defeating the old age problem of a foggy mask. A patented membrane surrounding the both the inner nose pocket and the inner eyes pockets acting as a barrier, trapping any moisture escaping from the diver's nose involuntarily when breathing through the mouth. This avoids the classic mask fogging and also reduces the need to compensate for pressure.

The Science: The warm, damp air that exits the nose is thermoregulated and channeled by a system of membranes set in the moulding area around the eyes and nose, diverting the flow towards the rubber skirt rather than the lenses. The cooling system in the external skirt is composed of two small heat exchangers that act as radiators, causing the inside temperature of the mask to drop closer to the external temperature. This traps the droplets of humidity before the air reaches the lenses, therefore preventing the lenses from fogging up.

All new masks come with a thin silicone - chemical film on the inside of the lens from the mould release process. This film is hydrophobic and causes water to bead up and obscure vision. Sea Buff physically abrades off that film so the glass can have your pre dive treatment. Both of these processes will give you clear vision.

The compact body of the Cressi Quantum is an advanced design for diving masks. As with all masks, the lenses should be treated and cleaned gently with a recognised mask cleaner, Gear Aid Sea Drops.
